Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Teaching Trust is recruiting a Clinical Rotational Pharmacist to gain experience across multiple specialties and to participate in a structured rotation that includes postgraduate training pathways.

You will supervise pharmacy staff, advise on pharmaceutical matters and contribute to high-quality patient care within a dynamic and expanding pharmacy team.

• Supervise and check the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and other staff as required.
• Provide professional advice on pharmaceutical matters to medical, nursing and other staff.

You will be part of an innovative and progressive pharmacy team that puts patient care at the centre of everything we do.

You will develop and expand your clinical knowledge through a structured rotational program that will include specialities such as general medicine, cardiology, care of the elderly, frailty, stroke, paediatrics, obstetrics, general surgery, trauma / orthopaedics, urology, plastics / ENT, elective surgery, dispensary, aseptics, medicine information and our renowned renal team.

We will fund and support post graduate training including Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice followed by non-medical prescribing.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will gain experience and receive training in all aspects of pharmacy practice by participating in a structured programme which incorporates various rotations (see applicant pack), plus study for the General Practice Diploma.

You will be committed to your own education and training and will supervise and check the work of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants and other staff, as required.
