Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a rotational post within the integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy service. Rotations of 4.5 months cover stroke rehabilitation, acute assessment, surgery and amputees, orthopaedics, general medicine and elderly care.

The OT will assess and treat their own caseload as an autonomous practitioner with daily senior support.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Knowledge and application of the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
• Knowledge of current legislation at DOH and CCG level.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat own caseload of patients, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner with daily senior support.
• Carry out comprehensive assessments across all areas of occupational performance.
• Assess and treat patients with diverse presentations under supervision.
• Undertake home visits to assess functioning at home and advise on care.
• Communicate with medical, nursing, social care staff, patients and carers about patient care.
