Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a rotational post covering acute trust rotations at The Lister Hospital, Stevenage. The role includes work in Stroke rehabilitation, Acute Assessment, General Surgery, Amputees, Orthopaedics, General Medicine and Elderly care.

The successful applicant will join a proactive OT and PT service, supported by senior staff and opportunities to contribute to service and clinical development.

Qualifications

• Sound clinical reasoning and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team and on your own initiative.
• Experience in occupational therapy and willingness to be rotated across services.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat own caseload autonomously with daily support from a senior clinician.
• Communicate with medical, nursing, social care staff, patients and carers involved in care.
• Undertake comprehensive assessments of Occupational Performance including self-care, productivity and leisure.
• Carry out home visits to assess functioning in the patient’s environment and plan further care.
