NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is offering a 12-month Rotational Dental Nurse position at Glasgow Dental Hospital. The role supports outpatient clinics within the Oral Health Directorate, delivering high‑quality patient care and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Applicants must hold GDC registration and demonstrate ongoing professional development. The post is fixed-term, full-time (36 hours/week), with working hours 08:45–17:15, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Secondary Care specialist procedures as appropriate to each sub-specialty.
• Qualified dental nurse with current professional registration with the General Dental Council.
• Ability to fulfil criteria outlined in the job description.

Responsabilités

• Assist the clinician during patient assessment and treatment procedures.
• Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and significant others, including translation services where needed.
• Prepare clinical environment and coordinate equipment, patient records and materials.
• Arrange patient appointments in line with treatment plans and liaise with other departments.
• Practice within GDC and national legislation to ensure patient wellbeing.
• Work within NHS Scotland and NHS GGC policies and guidelines.
• Empower patients to engage in their oral health decisions.
• Organise own time around clinical sessions under Team Leader direction.
• Ensure nursing resources are used efficiently and effectively.
• Participate in appraisal and personal development planning.
• Order and maintain supplies and pharmacy goods.
