Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a qualified Dental Nurse to join the Public Dental Service at Royal Alexandra Hospital. You will provide chairside support within a multidisciplinary team and help deliver high‑quality care to children and adults with additional needs across clinics and community settings.

This permanent, full‑time role (36 hours/week) offers Band 4 pay (£31,537‑£34,303) and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• National Certificate recognised by the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.
• Current General Dental Council registration as a Dental Nurse.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control standards in a dental environment.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and pursue development.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality chairside support to dentists and the dental team.
• Deliver care to patients in clinics, schools, care homes and domiciliary visits.
• Assist with pre- and post-treatment patient care and reinforce clinician advice.
• Support oral health education and health promotion activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment systems.
• Undertake decontamination duties and follow infection control procedures.
• Contribute to service improvement and wider Public Dental Service objectives.
