Job summary

Belfast Central Mission's Puddleducks Day Nursery in Belfast is seeking a Room Supervisor to lead a room-based early years program. You will plan age-appropriate activities, supervise staff, and uphold the nursery's high standards of care and education.

The role requires Early Years experience, QCF Level 3 or equivalent, and flexibility in hours. The contract is fixed-term, with a 40-hour work week and a salary around £30k per year.

Qualifications

• Working towards or currently possess QCF Level 3 in Child Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.
• At least 2 years Early Years practice with children aged 0-5 years.
• Experience of working in a Day Nursery.
• Flexibility regarding working hours and responsibilities within the Nursery.
• Desirable: Paediatric First Aid, Childcare supervisory experience, Leadership & Management level.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a stimulating, age-appropriate activities program for the children in your room.
• Supervise staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the nursery approach.

Room Supervisor - Puddleducks Day Nursery

Location: Puddleducks, Grosvenor House, 12 Glengall Street, Belfast, BT12 5AD

Salary: £30,534.4 per annum, £14.68 per hour (Scale point 23)

Contract: Fixed Term starting on 3 Aug 2026 until 3 May 2027

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Your new role

You will be responsible for arranging and ensuring the implementation of a stimulating and varied program of age-appropriate activities for the children in your room in line with the Puddleducks approach and the supervision of staff.

What we need from you

Essential

• Working towards or currently possess QCF Level 3 in Child Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.
• At least 2 years Early Years practice with children aged 0-5 years.
• Experience of working in a Day Nursery
• Flexibility regarding working hours and overall responsibilities within the Nursery.

Desirable

• CCLD Level 5 Leadership and Management or equivalent, or willing to complete.
• Paediatric First Aid.
• Childcare supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. DHSSPS Childminding & Day Care for Children Under Age 12 Minimum Standards.
