Job summary

Bright Horizons Northcote Road Nursery in London is seeking a Room Leader for the Under 2s. You will lead and mentor a team to provide exceptional care and education, ensuring each child’s welfare, safety, and progress in line with EYFS.

As part of the Northcote Road team, you will foster strong partnerships with parents and professionals, deliver the Ready for School programme, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive workplace that values development and safeguarding for every child.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse or similar.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection and related legislation.
• Ability to build trust and strong partnerships with colleagues and parents.
• Excellent communication with children and adults.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Room Leader to join our Northcote Road Nursery, situated close to Clapham Junction station and Clapham South tube.

This role is for the Under 2's room. Our Bright Horizons Northcote Road has four child home bases each designed specifically for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children. There is also a large, secure external play area and a small growing garden down in the basement in the Toddler Room. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Role Overview

As a Room Leader, you will lead, mentor, support, and inspire a team to deliver exception care and education, to help all children within the room to develop and meet their individual milestones. You will promote and ensure child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding, and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.

Job Requirements

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
