Job summary

Bright Horizons Northcote Road Day Nursery and Preschool in London is seeking a Room Leader to guide a team and deliver exceptional care and education for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

You will ensure child welfare, health and safety, safeguard, and foster strong partnerships with parents and colleagues while maintaining readiness for school through the Ready for School programme.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, preferably as Room Leader or similar.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong EYFS knowledge.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.

Nursery – Bright Horizons Northcote Road Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary – Starting from £32,864 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

We’re looking for a Room Leader to join our Northcote Road Nursery, situated close to Clapham Junction station and Clapham South tube. This is a fixed term role, covering maternity leave for 9-12 months.

Our Bright Horizons Northcote Road has four child home bases each designed specifically for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children. There is also a large, secure external play area and a small growing garden down in the basement in the Toddler Room. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The Role

As a Room Leader, you will lead, mentor, support, and inspire a team to deliver exception care and education, to help all children within the room to develop and meet their individual milestones. You will promote and ensure child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding, and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
