Job summary

Willing Recruitment is seeking a Room Leader for a Pre-School room in Reading. The role offers £31,000-£33,000 per year, full-time hours, and all-year-round work in a nurturing nursery environment.

You will lead the room team, deliver EYFS-aligned activities, observe progress, safeguard duties, and build strong links with parents while supporting the wider nursery team and ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent – essential.
• Experience in early years settings, with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong EYFS knowledge and child development milestones.
• Excellent communication, organisational and team leadership skills.
• Caring, patient and proactive approach to child development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the room team, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS.
• Observe, assess and record children’s progress to guide learning.
• Maintain high safeguarding, health and safety standards.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers and provide progress updates.
• Support the wider nursery team and contribute to ongoing improvement.
