Job summary

The NSS Group is seeking a Roofing Operative to join NSS Maintenance, covering planned and reactive roof work across the UK. You will work at height daily, perform cladding and guttering tasks, and support maintenance projects with a focus on safety and quality.

Applicants should hold driving and PPE-related qualifications, with IPAF/PASMA and CSCS being desirable. A positive attitude to learning and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working on reactive and planned maintenance in roof-related tasks.
• IPAF/PASMA/CSCS certifications preferred or in progress.
• NVQ/SVQ in Slating & Tiling or Sheeting & Cladding.
• Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Work in teams on reactive and planned maintenance jobs.
• Work at height safely on a daily basis.
• Carry out cladding, roofing maintenance, guttering repairs/replacements.
• Be flexible with hours, including some weekends and on-call shifts.
• Utilise portable devices to complete risk assessments and report work.

Roofing Operative at The NSS Group

Part of NSS Maintenance

£13.00ph - £14.00ph overtime paid at time and a half

The Business

NSS Maintenance are a working at height contractor working throughout UK, servicing facilities management clients and the refurbishment industry alike.

Our national coverage operates from four UK depots to offer planned and reactive building fabric maintenance and refurbishment services to commercial, retail and industrial sectors. We currently employee 600 employees directly across the NSS Group and own a fully serviced truck mounted access fleet, which we use in house for reactive and planned maintenance and cleaning requests

Responsibilities of the role:

• Working in teams on reactive and planned maintenance jobs

• Working at height safely on a daily basis

• Cladding, Commercial, Traditional & Industrial Roofing maintenance

• Guttering repairs / replacement

• Must be flexible with working hours, working away, early starts, late finishes and some weekends as and when required.

• Availability to be on call on a rota basis

• Willingness to learn new skills

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Pride in workmanship and accountability

• Utilising portable devices to undertake dynamic risk assessments on site and preparing reports on completed works.

Requirements requiredbut not essential:

• IPAF (1b, 3a, eb)

• CSCS labourer or skilled worker

• PASMA

• Driving Licence(required)

• First aid

• NVQ (Slating & Tiling / Sheeting & cladding)

• Reactive building maintenance identifying leaks & rectification (pitched roofing, guttering, slating, concrete tiling, GRP flat roofing)
