Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roofing Labourer & Flatbed Lorry Driver to join a busy East Sussex roofing team. The role combines hands-on labouring with safe transport of materials between suppliers, sites and the yard.

You will load and unload materials, assist roofers, drive a flatbed truck, ensure loads are secured, and follow health and safety procedures. The position offers a full-time permanent contract with a company vehicle and salary up to £34,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence for the vehicle driven.
• Experience driving a flatbed lorry or similar commercial vehicle.
• Physically fit with manual handling duties.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Comfortable working at height when required.
• Strong understanding of health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist roofers with day-to-day roofing and construction activities.
• Load, unload and move roofing materials safely around site.
• Prepare and clear work areas to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support site setup, material distribution and general labouring duties.
• Drive and operate a flatbed lorry to transport materials and equipment.
• Collect materials from suppliers and deliver them to roofing projects.
• Secure loads and comply with transport regulations.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Complete delivery documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Follow all health & safety procedures and site regulations.
