Cardo Group is recruiting a Roofers Mate to join our Rochester team. You will assist experienced roofers, work on occupied and vacant properties, and help ensure roofing works are completed safely and to a high standard. A professional, respectful approach to residents is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist roofers with day-to-day repairs and maintenance.

We are currently recruiting for a Roofers Mate to join our team covering the Rochester area.

Role Overview:

You will work alongside experienced roofers and other tradespeople, helping to ensure roofing works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The role involves working on occupied and vacant properties, so a professional and respectful approach to residents is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assist roofers with day-to-day roofing repairs and maintenance.
• Load, unload and safely move roofing materials, tools and equipment.
• Prepare work areas and ensure sites are kept clean and safe.
• Assist with stripping, repairing and replacing roofing materials.
• Help with repairs to tiles, slates, flat roofs, gutters, fascias and associated roofing components.
• Carry out general labouring duties as required.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures, including working safely at height.
• Use tools and equipment correctly and safely.
• Protect residents' property and minimise disruption while working in occupied homes.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with residents, clients and colleagues.
• Report any defects, hazards or additional work requirements to the supervisor.
• Complete work to the required quality, productivity and safety standards.

You Will Need:

• Previous experience as a labourer, roofer's mate or in a construction/maintenance environment.
• A willingness to learn and develop roofing skills.
• Good understanding of basic health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work safely at height and follow instructions.
• Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A reliable, punctual and positive approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A professional manner when working in residents' homes.
• A valid driving licence would be advantageous.
