Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a roofing slating/roughcasting operative to Install, repair and replace roofing to various styles. You will prepare roofs for re-slating, measure and fit slates, and ensure safe working at height.

The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities include maintaining tools, inspecting work for quality, and liaising with site managers and customers.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in slating or roughcasting is preferred.
• Good knowledge of roofing materials, tools and techniques.
• Ability to work accurately and safely at height.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and replace roofing to various styles.
• Strip and prepare roofs for re-slating or repair.
• Measure, cut and fit slates accurately.
• Fix battens, underlay, slate hooks, nails and related materials.
• Repair damaged or missing slates and identify water ingress.
• Render roughcast/external walls where required.
• Prepare surfaces before applying finishes.
• Work safely at height with ladders/scaffolding.
• Inspect finished work for quality and safety standards.
• Maintain tools and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Work from drawings and instructions; liaise with customers and other trades.
