Job summary

Mears Roofing is looking for a Roofer in Staines to perform general roofing repairs across occupied and Tenanted properties, including tile replacement and flat roofs. The role is a full-time permanent position working 42.5 hours per week, with a company van and fuel card provided.

Responsibilities

• General roofing repairs across occupied properties and tenanted homes.
• Install and repair tiles, felt roofing, and battens on various roofs.
• Carry out chimney repairs and roofing maintenance tasks as required.
• Liaise with tenants and site supervisors to minimise disruption.
• Record materials used and time spent on jobs accurately.
• Support planned maintenance and compliance inspections.

Salary up to £38,000 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card

42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)

Serving over 23,500 homes, we complete more than 38,000 repairs, 1,000 void refurbishments, and install 600 kitchens and bathrooms each year. This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of the senior management team, driving the successful delivery of our planning and customer service functions at the heart of our operations.

Role Criteria:

• General roofing repairs across occupied and Tenanted properties
• Replacement of roof tiles, felt roofing, and wooden battens
• Chimney repairs and replacements
• Installation and repair of flat roofs, including felt and asphalt systems
• Lead work including flashings, soakers, and valley gutters
• Repair and installation of ridge tiles, verge tiles, and hip tiles
• Guttering and downpipe repairs and replacements
• Fascia, soffit, and barge board installation and maintenance
• Roof insulation works to joists and rafters
• Installation and repair of roof vents, eaves ventilation, and ducting
• Repairs to rooflights and skylights
• Emergency callouts to make properties safe following storm damage or leaks
• Identification of defects and recommendation of remedial actions
• Working with reclaimed roofing materials where appropriate
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations
• Accurate recording of materials used and time spent on jobs
• Liaising with tenants and site supervisors to ensure clear communication and minimal disruption
• Supporting planned maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects
• Ensuring compliance with the Decent Homes Standard and other regulatory requirements
• UK full driving license
