Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to operate from a Crewe rolling stock depot. You will perform mechanical overhaul of rail bogies and related components to ensure reliable, safe trains for customers.

The role requires time-served/apprentice training with mechanical qualifications and NVQ Level 2. Experience with rolling stock systems and depot operations is advantageous; start date ASAP and a 37-hour week on days with some shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Time served/apprentice with relevant mechanical papers.
• NVQ Level 2 in a mechanical discipline is required.
• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering and rolling stock systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering.
• Wheel set overhaul, repair and analysis.
• Bogie chassis, damage repair and clean.
• Bogie and gearbox engineering/repair.
• Wheel exchange on wheel sets.
• Bearing, axle and wheel mounting.
• Components and sub-assemblies overhaul and analysis.
• Re-engineering and production of spare parts.
