Job summary
Caterpillar Peterlee in the UK is seeking a Manufacturing Robot Programmer/Technician to program 20 welding and paint robot cells and drive continuous improvement across production. You will tackle RCCA investigations, operator development, and process optimization in a fast-paced environment.
The role requires experience with CLOOS, FANUC or ABB robots, and a willingness to travel within the UK and internationally to support training and new robot cell introductions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in robotic programming and automation support in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to develop and optimize robot programs for welding/paint applications.
- ONC/HNC or equivalent technical training.
- Strong understanding of robotic systems and fault-finding.
Responsibilities
- Programming of CLOOS, FANUC and ABB robots.
- Develop optimized programming strategies for existing/new robot cells.
- Provide daily production support to ensure Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.
- Serve as liaison between project team and operations.
- Develop specifications for new robot cells.
- Support development of fabrication jigs and inline assembly tooling.
- Improve robot cell safety systems and risk assessments.
- Identify improvements to robot programs to boost OEE.
