Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Process Engineer in Cheltenham to develop, optimise and maintain automated welding processes, ensuring product quality and process capability.

You will define welding parameters, support NPI, audits, and lead root-cause analysis; collaborate with design and production teams; drive continuous improvement and lean practices.

The role is permanent and on-site, offering opportunity to influence weld joint design and supplier integration.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering processes.
• Experience with automated or robotic welding systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimise mechanical welding processes for production and NPI.
• Define and control welding parameters to ensure repeatable welds.
• Audit and maintain process controls for quality and compliance.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve manufacturability of welds.
• Support equipment suppliers and calibration strategies.
• Provide training and technical guidance to operators and inspectors.
