Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in Cornwall is seeking a Consultant in Upper GI Surgery to join our surgical team. You will lead elective and emergency Upper GI services, develop a bariatric interest, and contribute to minimally invasive, robotic-assisted procedures within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

We value clinical excellence, teaching, research and continuous service improvement, with opportunities to shape Upper GI and bariatric pathways across Cornwall and beyond.

Qualifications

• Fully trained in Upper GI surgery and eligible for appointment at Consultant level.
• Experienced in complex Upper GI surgery.
• Experienced in bariatric surgery.
• Experienced in robotic surgery, or committed to developing robotic skills.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Committed to clinical excellence, teaching, research and continuous service improvement.

Responsabilités

• Deliver a high-quality elective and emergency Upper GI surgical service.
• Develop and expand specialist interest in bariatric surgery.
• Undertake and develop robotic-assisted surgical procedures as part of the minimally invasive surgery programme.
• Work closely with gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, anaesthetics, dietetics and other multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to service development, clinical governance, teaching and training.
• Support development of specialist Upper GI and bariatric pathways across Cornwall.
