Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division in Spalding. You will diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, delivering quick, confident solutions and outstanding member service.

Based at home with a provided RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and essential tools, you’ll operate with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience. This is a full-time role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs and provide quick, confident solutions.
• Start and finish shifts at home, delivering service with an RAC van and kit.
• Maintain high levels of member service and safety on every call-out.

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
• Start and finish on your driveway.
• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you'll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
