Job summary

MVT is seeking a Roadside Technician in Reading to provide roadside assistance across a national breakdown network. The role offers a high base salary with substantial OTE, a flexible Superflex schedule, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates should have at least Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred) and a minimum of two years hands-on experience with vehicles. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
Customer-focused approach with good communication.
Able to work flexible schedules and adapt to shifts.

Responsibilities

Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside (battery changes, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
Work safely in varied environments and conditions.
