Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and ending each day at home and serving members in your local area.

You'll be provided with an RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and a diagnostic kit to enable quick, confident solutions on the roadside.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle issues from flat batteries to tyre changes and complex fault-finding with quick, confident solutions.
• Start and end your day at home, attending members in your local area.
• RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit provided.

• A marketcompetitivebase salary of £42,921.87, (Inclusive of night allowance) complimented by an average OTE ranging from £43,000 to £53,000.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Harlow cluster, covering areas like Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Waltham Abbey, Epping, Hoddesdon. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need...

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
