Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd. seeks a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide roadside assistance across the network.

You will respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform on-site mechanical and electrical repairs to restore mobility for members. The role requires a Level 2 (Level 3 preferred) qualification in light vehicle maintenance, 2+ years’ post-qualification experience, and a valid UK driving licence with up to 6 points.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
