Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repairs and diagnostics across the UK. You will handle emergency breakdown support and provide confident, reassuring service to RAC members, starting and ending your day at home with your own RAC van and full toolkit.

Ideal candidates have a relevant qualification or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience with NVQ path.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work from home to home with RAC van, fuel card and tools provided.
• Assist drivers and reassure members on roadside calls.
