Job summary

The AA is hiring a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to serve members across varied locations with a 40-hour week and flexible shift patterns. You’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation, delivering dependable roadside assistance and top customer service.

Expect guaranteed year-one earnings of £38,270 with an on-target earnings of up to £60,000 based on performance. You’ll work from your driveway and drive to incidents, earning from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• Full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Willingness to adapt to new technology and tools provided
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
