Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in Peterborough. You will start and finish from your driveway, being paid for the full duration of your shift, with flexible patterns and a 40 hour week.

Work independently at varied locations, using your technical knowledge to ensure a positive customer experience and resolve roadside issues on the spot. A full category B licence is essential, plus NVQ3 in vehicle maintenance and repair.

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent Qualifications with relevant experience.
• Essential: full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
