Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is recruiting a Roads Working Foreperson to lead road maintenance works in the Helensburgh/Lomond area. The role requires supervising a large multi-skilled team, setting out works, and ensuring paperwork deadlines are met.

The ideal candidate will hold an HGV licence and a HAUC certificate and be available for a permanent position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Closing date: 9 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Must hold an HGV licence and HAUC certificate.
• Experience supervising a large multi-skilled workforce.
• Ability to work unsupervised and set out/construct various works to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural and road maintenance works.
• Supervise and motivate a large multi-skilled group of employees.
• Ensure deadlines are met when submitting paperwork.
