Job description

Do you like working outdoors? Would you like to make a real difference in the City for residents and visitors? If you have experience working in a civil engineering environment and Highway Maintenance, then this could be just the opportunity for you.

What the role will involve?

You will be integral in making a positive impact on the City by providing advice and guidance around constructing carriageways, footway reconstruction, drainage work, and duct installation. You should have knowledge of interpreting public utility information and detailed drawings related to these construction works.

You will support and advise colleagues and apprentices while complying with Newcastle City Council's policies and procedures.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a team player who can read detailed plans to carry out work to specification. Someone with a passion for ensuring the safety of staff, residents, and visitors to the City.

You should have experience and knowledge of all aspects of civil engineering construction works, including construction-related health and safety issues, to support the delivery of environmental improvement schemes on the highway network across the city.
