NY Highways is looking for Street Sweeper Drivers to maintain roads, streets and public spaces around Skipton, North Yorkshire. The role combines road sweeping with highways maintenance support, offering a varied and frontline service that benefits local residents and visitors.

The position requires driving LGV vehicles, working in a team, and a strong commitment to safety. 40-hour week, permanent contract, and progression opportunities are available, with a competitive salary and benefits

Qualifications

• LGV driving and street cleaning duties are core responsibilities.
• Ability to work as part of a local team with strong safety focus.
• Willingness to work in varying weather and on an out-of-hours rota.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate LGV road sweeping vehicles.
• Clean streets, pathways and public spaces.
• Carry out litter picking, bin handling and weed removal.
• Support winter maintenance, emergencies and environmental response.
• Develop highway maintenance skills and assist wider team when required.
• Work safely and communicate effectively within the team.
• Commitment to safety and high standards.
• Be prepared for out-of-hours shifts.
