Job summary

Bergey’s Commercial Tire in Reading PA is seeking a Tire Technician to perform tire repairs, replacements and general service to tires and wheels at customer locations, on the road or at the shop.

Responsibilities include mounting/dismounting, balancing and repairing truck tires, rotating for after-hours calls, and ensuring safety with proper PPE. Requires DOT card, TIA certification, valid license; background checks apply. Sign-on bonus offered; benefits available.

Qualifications

• DOT Medical Card required or willing to obtain
• TIA certification required or training will be provided
• Valid Driver's License required
• Pre-employment background checks and drug screening required

• Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack, use air tools and heavy hand-held tools
• Mount, dismount, balance, replace, and repair commercial truck tires
• Be rotated for After Hours Road Service Calls
• Communicate all work performed via tags, work orders or invoices
• Maintain safety and professionalism, proper use of safety equipment and driving record
• Perform daily vehicle, tool and equipment maintenance
• Maintain professional relationships with customers
• Other tasks as assigned

Location: Bergey's Commercial Tire, Reading PA

Pay: $19 to $22 / hour based on experience

$2,500.00 Sign-On Bonus based on qualifications

Summary:

Perform tire repairs, replacements & general service to tires and wheels at customer's location, on the road or at the shop.

• Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack, use air tools and heavy hand-held tools
• Mount, dismount, balance, replace, and repair commercial truck tires.
• Will be put into rotation for After Hours Road Service Calls
• Repair or replace tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
• Change truck tires on the roadside, customer yard or shop
• Ability to recognize repairable tires and properly perform repair.
• Communicate all work performed via legible writing on tags, work orders and/or invoices.
• Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Use all provided safety equipment including seat belts, gloves, jack stands, wheel chocks, safety glasses, and cages.
• Maintain safe driving record
• Perform daily maintenance to vehicle, tools and equipment.
• Maintain professional relationship with customers
• Other tasks as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess or be willing to obtain a DOT Medical Card

Must be or willing to get TIA certified (training will be provided)

Valid Driver's License

Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening
