Job summary

Wayve in London is seeking a Vehicle Safety Operator to conduct real road experiments and report findings to our research teams. This role focuses on safe testing, providing real-world driving data to train and improve autonomous vehicle AI systems.

The position is a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) based onsite at our Kings Cross office, with 40 hours per week, including weekend shifts, 06:30-15:30 and 14:30-23:30. Commute planning and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have full clean UK manual driving licence.
• At least 8 years driving experience - mainly in the UK.
• No blameworthy insurance claims in the past three years.
• Strong communication skills and empathy.
• Able to work alone and in a team.
• Adaptable and problem solving mindset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Be part of operations team to test vehicles across the UK.
• Monitor AI and respond to hazards to ensure safe testing.
• Evaluate AI during tests and provide feedback to R&D teams.
• Provide real-world driving examples to train the AI.
• Support safety and engineering by maintaining high safety standards.
