Kent County Council's Road Safety & Active Travel Group is seeking a Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer. The role focuses on handling key datasets and making analysis accessible to the wider team to support the Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy.

Reporting to the Team Leader, duties span the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team and the Casualty Data Team. You will work with partners and stakeholders, supporting the Safer Road Partnership across Kent and Medway.

Competenze

• Must be well organised, numerate and able to pay close attention to detail.
• Excellent IT skills and strong communication/interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in obtaining, cleansing or analysing data is a plus.
• Flexible, adaptable and capable of prioritising competing demands.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Support Officer to work within the Road Safety & Active Travel Group (RSATG).

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual that has the knowledge, understanding and passion to work on key datasets and make analysis and data available and accessible for the wider team to assist in the County's Vision Zero Road Safety Strategy.

The role will report to the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team leader, but duties will be split between the Road Safety Intelligence and Innovations Team and the Casualty Data Team. You will work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders within the road safety arena with particular focus working in support of the Safer Road Partnership of Kent & Medway.

Key Responsibilities

• You will spend a proportion of your time validating personal injury collision data, a key dataset which forms the basis of all road safety efforts in the county.


• In addition, you will be supporting the team cleansing, distributing and in some instances analysing other traffic and risk data.


• You will also process ad-hoc requests for information within this field.


• You will work with colleagues in relation to Safety Performance Indicators in line with the Safe Systems Vision Zero principles and also work on our safer roads, junctions and cluster site programmes.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
