Job summary

Tarmac is recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative - Road Planing to join the National Road Planing team. Based in Thatcham, Berkshire, you must be flexible to travel to other sites across Berkshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire and Wales, with occasional overnight stays.

The role is 40 hours per week with days, evenings or nights as needed. Overtime is available and premium rates apply for weekends/bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a road planer or equivalent heavy plant machinery with training provided.
• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and work varied shifts including nights.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery, vehicles and tools ensuring safety and reporting defects.
• Maintain PPE compliance and undergo required training and inductions.
• Follow safety requirements and company standards for employees and subcontractors.
• Complete site documents and attend inductions and briefings.
• Promote safety culture by reporting hazards through established processes.
• Support environmental best practices across all activities.
