Job summary

Priory Hospital Hazelwood House in Heath, Derbyshire, is inviting a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. The role is full time (37.5 hours) with a salary of £36,447.91 to £40,691.09 per year.

You will assess, plan, deliver and review personalised nursing care, maintain a safe environment, and work closely with patients, families and colleagues to support recovery and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Qualified Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration.
• Minimum of 6 months' post-registration experience in a mental health or learning disabilities care environment.
• Completed preceptorship programme.
• Good knowledge of NMC guidelines, professional nursing standards and relevant safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and review personalised nursing care, ensuring patients' individual needs, choices and wishes are respected
• Monitor patients' wellbeing, recognise changes in their condition and respond appropriately to changing clinical needs.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families or carers to support effective care and positive outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic care environment, following safeguarding procedures, medicines management policies and relevant legislation.
• Coordinate nursing duties when required, support colleagues and newly qualified nurses, and maintain accurate care records in line with Priory policies and the NMC Code.
