Job summary

AMG Nursing and Care Services in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) to step into the Clinical Services Lead for Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour.

You will provide clinical leadership, oversee delivery of high‑quality services, develop person-centred plans, and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and least‑restrictive care.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as RNLD
• Significant post-registration experience in learning disability services
• Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge
• Strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and least-restrictive practice
• Experience managing complex clinical risk and safeguarding concerns

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical leadership in learning disability nursing and management of behaviours that challenge
• Lead and support development and review of person-centred care plans
• Oversee quality, safety and effectiveness of clinical service delivery
• Promote evidence-based approaches to PBS and reduction of restrictive practices
• Provide clinical guidance to nursing, support and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Ensure holistic needs are considered in clinical assessment
• Support development and review of PBS plans, risk assessments and crisis management
• Champion least-restrictive practice, dignity, choice and human rights
• Collaborate with individuals, families, advocates and external professionals
• Provide leadership in safeguarding and clinical risk management
• Monitor standards and lead clinical audits, quality improvement and service development
• Support incident reviews and learning actions
• Provide supervision and professional leadership to registered nurses and care teams
• Support staff development through training and reflective practice
• Contribute to clinical policies, pathways and governance processes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
