Job summary

Kingston Centre For Independent Living is seeking a friendly, patient Personal Assistant to support RN1, a 13-year-old autistic boy at home and in the community. The role includes walks, outings, activities and encouraging confidence, communication and independence in a calm setting.

The ideal candidate is calm, understanding and reliable, with experience with autistic children or additional needs preferred. Hours are 4 hours per week, flexible and weekend-friendly.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient and reliable personal assistant required.
• Male candidate preferred and comfortable supporting autistic children/young people.

Responsibilities

• Support RN1 at home and in the community with daily activities.
• Assist with walks, outings, play and structured activities to encourage confidence and independence.
• Maintain calm routines and appropriate boundaries and support communication.

We are looking for a friendly, patient, and reliable male Personal Assistant to support RN1, a 13-year-old autistic boy.

This is a rewarding role supporting a young person both at home and in the community in a calm and positive way. Support may include walks, outings, activities, play, and encouraging confidence, communication, and independence while maintaining consistent routines and boundaries.

RN1 enjoys outdoor activities, parks, playgrounds, shops, supermarkets, exploring new places, and spending time in a calm environment at home.

The ideal candidate should be calm, understanding, and confident supporting autistic children or young people, with a positive attitude and patient approach.

Experience supporting autistic children or young people with additional needs would be preferred.

Hours: 4 hours per week. Flexible hours, preferably at weekends, to be arranged with the family.
