Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice; compact license transfers within 60 days.
• BLS-HCP certification on hire or within 60 days with approval.
• BSN required; must obtain BSN within 4 years if not already.
• IBCLC certification required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding care across inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Provide evidence-based breastfeeding support and education to mothers and families.
• Offer prenatal classes and educate patients and families.
• Provide outpatient care, home visits, and consultations for lactation issues.
• Serve as clinical expert/resource on lactation and help develop supportive policies.
• Contribute to educational program development for providers.
