The Clinical Decision Unit is designed to hold patients whose medical conditions require specific clinically defined hospital-based services that include short term treatments, assessments and reassessments through periodic monitoring by staff who evaluate whether the patient can be discharged from the hospital or require inpatient status/admission. Patient expected Length of stay is 8-48 hours, therefore the admission/transfer/discharge activity, (ADT), of this unit is expected to be high and therefore fast paced.
