We have an opportunity for you to join our Water Quality and Environment team as our newRiver Insights and Improvement Manager.


In your new role you’ll be central to our River Protection team, transforming river health and providing valuable insights. You’ll work with external and internal stakeholders, enhancing performance and driving the success of our river programs.


You’ll lead on projects for Bathing Rivers, River Water Quality, and RNAGs, ensuring effective documentation and management. You’ll support alignment across programs, provide reliable data for media enquiries, present findings to internal teams, and share project outputs with various audiences, including operational teams, communications teams, regulators, and customers.

The location of this role is flexible depending on where you live in the Severn Trent region. If you're based in or around the Midlands, we'd love to hear from you.

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensuring your programmes are on track and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage a variety of internal and external stakeholders, ranging from regulatory or partnership work, to providing regular updates to the business on progress.
  • Lead through the appropriate documentation to ensure effective assurance and programme risks are managed to achieve River Programme outcomes.
  • Use your technical knowledge to identify recommended business improvement changes and business growth opportunities, including the delivery of a river hub to ensure a one stop shop for River Insights for the business.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Are you an Excel expert with a passion for turning numbers into narratives? We're looking for someone highly skilled in Excel, capable of working with large and complex data sets. You should be able to uncover trends, draw meaningful insights, and tell compelling stories through data. If you're analytical, detail-oriented, and love making data come alive—this role is for you!

This role requires developing a strong understanding of environmental topics such as rivers, water quality, waste assets, and water resources. You'll need sharp analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret external factors affecting river health. Strong communication and stakeholder management are essential, as you'll engage with both internal teams and external bodies, including regulators. Presenting insights clearly and building technical and regulatory expertise are key parts of the role.
