Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Design Engineer - Civils based in Bristol as part of the River Infrastructure team. The role involves delivering infrastructure projects for clients such as the Environment Agency and Severn Trent, with 40 hours per week and some flexibility on hours.

Qualifications

• Experienced in design delivery.
• Comfortable managing uncertainty and technical risk.
• Able to learn and work in new areas with support from colleagues.
• Postgraduate experience in the design of hydraulic structures, river engineering, or similar.
• Holder of a Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and agreeing technical requirements of client remits, ensuring full understanding and challenging where necessary
• Organising and leading the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team, ensuring technical compliance
• Ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies, including CDM Regulations and design Quality Management Systems
• Contributing to financial and commercial management of projects including progress monitoring and change control
• Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's competitive position
