As part of a leading online mental health service, you'll collaborate with innovative, forward-thinking professionals in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to making a real difference.

The Risk and Resilience Officer will work closely with the Risk and Resilience Manager to implement, monitor, and enhance the organisation’s risk management and operational resilience frameworks. This role plays a key part in safeguarding Psychiatry-UK’s ability to deliver safe, compliant, and uninterrupted mental health services in a fully digital environment.

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.

As our Risk and Resilience Officer you will:

  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of risk and resilience policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of operational, clinical, and digital risks.
  • Maintain and periodically test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Coordinate and document risk assessments, audits, and scenario-based exercises.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations (e.g., CQC, GDPR, NHS DSP Toolkit).
  • Contribute to incident response activities and participate in post-incident reviews.
  • Prepare and present risk and resilience reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the delivery of training and awareness sessions across the organisation.
  • Maintain risk registers, ensuring timely updates and follow-up on mitigation actions.
  • Collaborate with clinical, IT, governance, and operational teams to ensure integrated risk oversight and effective continuity planning.
  • Coordinate business impact analyses (BIAs) to identify critical functions and dependencies.
  • Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of continuity exercises and simulations.
  • Track and report on continuity risks, gaps, and improvement actions.
  • Keep up to date with best practices and emerging trends in business continuity and resilience.
  • Plan and prioritise workload, adapting to shifting priorities as needed.
  • Participate in regular supervision with the line manager and in the Psychiatry-UK PDR process to maintain and develop skills and meet agreed objectives.
  • Attend relevant online and mandatory training, including Information Governance, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety.

To succeed as our Risk and Resilience Officer you will have:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a risk management, compliance, or business continuity role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK healthcare regulations and the digital health environment.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with risk management tools or software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Risk Management, Business Administration, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Working towards or holding professional certifications such as CBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301, or IRM.
  • Experience working in a mental health or telehealth environment.
  • Familiarity with data protection requirements and cybersecurity principles.
  • Exposure to incident management processes and/or business continuity planning.
