Job summary

St John Ambulance is seeking a Risk and Policy Manager to strengthen governance across the charity. You will help manage Board Assurance Frameworks, risk registers, and policy governance to ensure consistent practice across the organisation.

Hybrid role with base in any St John office and occasional travel to London. The role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration, training delivery, and building clear, accountable governance across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• GCSEs Maths and English are essential.
• Experience in sourcing, analysing and presenting qualitative and quantitative data.
• Experience supporting leaders with risk and/or policy responsibilities.
• Proficiency in developing risk registers and KPI dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to ensure consistent application of the risk management framework, including oversight of the Board Assurance Framework.
• Lead risk review forums and coordinate cross-functional risk register analysis.
• Act as a risk management SME, recommending and implementing improvements.
• Deliver training and support to teams unfamiliar with risk management practices.
• Oversee policy creation and update processes, guiding policy owners through governance requirements.
• Review policy quality and ensure accessibility and stakeholder communication.
