Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead risk management across the programme, maintain risk registers, facilitate reviews and provide clear risk reporting.

You will collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to identify, assess and mitigate risks, supporting informed decision-making and successful delivery in a challenging UK defence-related environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience leading risk management activities.
• Solid knowledge of risk management processes and practices.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication at executive level.
• Experience in a complex live operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of project and programme risk registers.

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join the team.

As a Risk Manager, you will lead risk management activities across the programme, maintaining risk registers, facilitating reviews and workshops, and providing clear and accurate risk reporting. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will identify, assess and mitigate risks, supporting effective decision-making and successful project delivery.

• Lead the development and management of project and programme risk registers.

• Facilitate risk reviews, workshops and stakeholder meetings.

• Maintain productive working relationships with industry partners and suppliers, monitoring performance across quality, time, cost and reliability.
• Identify and manage emerging issues to minimise the risk of programme delays or cost escalation.
• Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and informed decision-making.
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of risk mitigation actions.
• Ensure compliance with agreed processes, operating procedures and relevant infrastructure requirements.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

• 3–5 years’ experience in risk management, including experience as a lead or sole Risk Manager.
• Good knowledge of risk management processes and practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and understand the wider risk picture.
• Able to identify trends and potential risks from detailed information.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively at an executive level.
