Job description

My client is seeking a new Risk & Compliance Manager. The role will require 2-3 days PW in Taunton.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and optimise effective risk management to enable risks to be appropriately identified, managed, reported, and escalated.
2. Ensure risks inform decision-making, particularly in relation to risk appetite, corporate and business planning, and other relevant processes.
3. Drive the development, implementation, and support of governance frameworks, ensuring compliance and addressing areas where governance may be lacking.
4. Provide advice on managing and coordinating governance functions, developing and implementing best practice processes, standards, and templates.
5. Lead the overall risk management process, liaising with stakeholders and senior managers, including the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
6. Report escalated risks to ELT and the Audit Risk & Assurance Committee.
7. Oversee and maintain Risk Management Policies and Processes, ensuring alignment with audit schedules and risk-based approaches.
8. Support the development of Risk Focal points through mentoring and guidance.
9. Provide specialist advice on governance management, ensuring best practices are adopted and implemented.
10. Drive the development, implementation, and support of governance to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
