Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Risk Data Analyst in our Risk Data Solutions team which is part of the Group Risk Function.

The Risk Data Solutions team is dedicated to the delivery of a consolidated view of financial and exposure data to a range of stakeholders throughout Sompo. This involves the collection, validation, standardisation, augmentation, analysis and reporting of policy, insured interest and financial information across all lines of business. The global scope of the Group Risk Management Function allows for a dynamic and wide range of development opportunities both personal and professional.

Our Business, Your Impact, Our Opportunity

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide direct support to the Head of Risk Data Solutions in collating policy and financial data from internal and external sources into a structured and standardised warehouse for use by a range of stakeholders
• Working closely with Exposure Management, Finance and Reserving to ensure all requirements are met for regular reporting
• Assist in the design and development of reporting infrastructure and capabilities
• Augment policy data with additional fields to aid in governance framework and risk analysis to be provided to stakeholders
• Review additional data sources to be used to augment the portfolio
• Perform stringent governance over policy and financial data to ensure accuracy of all fields held within the exposure warehouse
• Ensuring the data workflows are kept up to date with changes in business and that it evolves with changes in available intelligence and best practice
• Build out reporting of exposure data functionality through collaboration with stakeholders
• Responsible for development and research projects
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel
• Experience in management of large datasets and MI reporting, preferably with Power BI
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and analytical output to derive insightful and focussed reviews and recommendations
• Understanding of insurance products offered by an underwriting wholesale and retail organisation
• Communication skills: able to communicate breakdowns of large datasets concisely and effectively
• A desire to work in an agile environment focussed on practical and pragmatic solutions to real and immediate needs across a range of stakeholders.
