Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP seeks a Risk & Compliance Counsel to manage conflicts of interest related to onboarding new clients, new matters, and lateral hires. The role involves advising on ethical duties, contract issues, and firm policies, with collaboration across NB&C and OGC.

The successful candidate will have England & Wales admission, 3+ years in a law firm or corporate GC setting, strong research and communication skills, and experience with Intapp products.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and admission to practice in England & Wales required.
• 3+ years of related or applicable law firm or corporate office of general counsel experience, including conflict of interest and new client intake policies.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills, sound judgment and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and address conflicts for new business intake and lateral hires to mitigate conflicts under conduct rules.
• Counsel and advise OGC, NB&C leadership, and other stakeholders on ethical and risk issues.
• Draft waivers and establish and maintain ethical walls.
• Develop and deliver training programs on rules of professional conduct and risk management policies.
