Job description

Kennedys is looking for a legal file auditor to join our Risk & Compliance department, which provides expert information, advice, and guidance on professional responsibility, risk, and compliance issues. This role is within the Quality and Audit Risk team.

Team

The Kennedys Risk & Compliance team oversees a wide range of partnership, risk, and compliance issues and acts as an in-house legal department, assisting with regulatory and professional conduct inquiries.

The Quality and Audit Risk team is responsible for delivering the annual lawyer file and relevant business services audit programs, as well as supporting client team audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering the annual lawyer file audit program.
  • Prepare and deliver quality audit reports and monitor corrective actions.
  • Contribute to internal audit processes across UK and global offices.
  • Discuss audit requirements and findings with fee earners, team leaders, and partners.
  • Support the delivery of audit processes aligned with ISO 9001 Quality Management standards.
  • Assist in developing internal audit processes within relevant systems.
  • Participate in due diligence related to audit activities when required.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in legal file management.
  • Previous supervisory, peer review, or file audit experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail.
