What is the opportunity?
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of Compliance Consultants, and be part of a wider team that has an important part to play in ensuring safe delivery of the UK and Group Risk strategic objectives.
In this role you will:
Managing a team of Compliance Consultants to design, deliver, record and report customer outcome testing, testing of key controls and assessment of key risks supporting delivery of critical processes and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Scheduling, managing and co-ordinating review activity with stakeholders across BOIUK including agreeing review objectives, scope, timing and approach.
- stakeholder engagement across BOIUK to support delivery of assurance activity including agreement of issues and action plans and validation activity to ensure successful risk mitigation and improvement of the control environment supporting better customer outcomes an improved risk management
- Production of impactful written reports including assurance opinions, results and key issues.
- To support the Head of Compliance Assurance & Monitoring to develop the risk based Compliance Assurance and Outcome Testing plan. To support review and update of approaches and processes for the delivery of effective and efficient compliance assurance and outcome based testing.
- To provide high quality, timely, accurate and insightful reports and regular management information in relation to the results of assurance and outcome based testing.
What will make you stand out?Demonstrably good working knowledge of UK Financial Services regulations - in particular Consumer Duty, Codes of Practice and products.
5 years working in Retail UK Banking regulatory compliance and/or financial services risk management and/or 3 years working in audit, compliance assurance and/or monitoring within Retail UK Banking
Good understanding of banking products
Experience of managing, coaching and developing a team
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail and report/document writing skills; experience in reviewing/approving the work of others
Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and ability to manage senior stakeholders
Good decision-making, planning/organisation, communication and relationship-building skills.

The UK Risk Team is responsible for helping protect the bank's balance sheet, customers and reputation whilst supporting the business in building sustainable profitability. It has four teams, Credit Risk, Operational Risk & Financial Crime, Conduct & Compliance and Prudential Risk, with circa 240 people based in London, Bristol, Belfast & Solihull. The team has an important part to play in ensuring safe delivery of the UK and Group Risk strategic objectives..
