Job description

Risk & ComplianceAnalyst

Risk & ComplianceAnalyst

Broadgate are engaged on a new opportunity for an ambitious risk & compliance analyst to join an established Second Line of Defence team within a growing financial services business.

This is a varied analyst-level position, working across Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime and Assurance. You’ll play an important role in helping the business understand and manage its risk profile, while also improving the quality of reporting, governance and management information used across the Group.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working with people and information, has strong attention to detail and is naturally curious about how processes can be improved. Previous experience within a 2LOD environment would be advantageous, but it isn't essential. Experience in areas such as risk, compliance, financial crime, internal audit, controls or assurance could also provide a strong foundation.

You’ll report directly to the Group Risk Manager and will have considerable exposure to senior stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business. As the function continues to develop, there is genuine scope to shape the role and build a broader career across risk, compliance, assurance or financial crime.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support the Group Risk Managers in operating and embedding the firm's risk event framework, including triage, escalation, reporting and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain oversight of assurance findings across the Second and Third Lines of Defence, ensuring actions are appropriately recorded and progressed.
  • Produce meaningful MI and exception reporting, identifying areas requiring attention and working with business owners to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Take ownership of the day-to-day administration of the GRC platform, ensuring information remains accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Coordinate the Second Line activity plan, including preparation of governance materials, reporting packs and tracking of agreed actions.
  • Support the management of Compliance and Financial Crime monitoring programmes and associated actions.
  • Work alongside risk and compliance specialists on control testing, assurance reviews, evidence assessment and root-cause investigations.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of risk, compliance and assurance-related training for colleagues across the business.
  • Build effective relationships between the business and the central Risk & Compliance function, helping ensure information and actions move efficiently between stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and the use of technology across the Second Line function.
What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who is curious, proactive and comfortable taking ownership. You should enjoy understanding how things work, spotting opportunities to improve them and turning information into something useful for the business.

You’ll ideally bring:
  • Strong analytical ability and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to take initiative.
  • The ability to manage your own workload while confidently following up with others to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Good judgement and the ability to present information appropriately for different audiences.
  • A genuine interest in using systems, data and technology to make processes more efficient.
  • A collaborative and personable approach, with the confidence to work alongside subject matter experts.
Experience

We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. Relevant experience could include:

  • Second Line Risk or Compliance.
  • First Line controls, governance or risk programmes.
  • Internal audit or assurance.
  • Financial Crime or Compliance monitoring.
  • Risk reporting, MI or exception reporting.
  • GRC systems or risk management platforms.

Most importantly, you'll have a genuine interest in developing a career within Risk, Compliance, Assurance or Financial Crime, together with a track record of learning quickly and taking responsibility for your own development.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative function at an interesting point in its development, gain exposure across multiple areas of risk and compliance, and make a tangible contribution to how the business manages and reports on risk.
