Job summary

GiGi is looking for a dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join The Kitchen at GiGi. You will act as a bridge between leadership and the team on the pass, modelling high standards, consistency and professionalism while supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure every service runs with confidence and precision.

You will lead by example, coach those around you and help create an environment where every chef can thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a quality restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of fresh food preparation and service.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Positive, supportive leadership style.
• Commitment to cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operation.
• Lead sections confidently, ensuring dishes meet GiGi standards.
• Supervise during service, maintain high organisation.
• Coach Line Chefs and Kitchen Porters to build skills.
• Ensure food quality, consistency and presentation across services.
• Manage prep levels and mise en place for smooth service.
• Assist with stock, deliveries and ordering while minimising waste.
• Maintain Health & Safety standards at all times.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
• Step into leadership when supervisor is absent.
