Job summary

Kent is expanding its offshore capabilities and invites Expressions of Interest from experienced Riggers for core crew positions offshore in the North Sea and beyond. The role requires rigging competence, adherence to safety procedures and the ability to work at height on large-scale installations.

Candidates should hold a relevant Rigger L3 qualification, offshore experience as a Plater, and valid BOSIET/MIST, with right to work in the UK. Strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Rigger L3 Diploma or L3 Apprenticeships (City & Guilds).
  • Proven offshore experience as a Plater.
  • Working at Height competency.
  • Valid BOSIET/MIST.
  • Connected Competency trade tests (scope dependent).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, position, install and dismantle construction elements and assemblies per LOER guidelines.
  • Prepare and traverse loads to placement points and position them safely.
  • Read and interpret standards, manuals, lift plans and schedules.
  • Select tools and equipment and follow procedures and safety rules.
  • Care for and secure tools and equipment.
  • Identify defects and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Handle digital IT equipment to support work tasks and communication.

About the job:

Kent is thrilled to announce that we are expanding our offshore capabilities and enhancing our service offerings. In line with this growth, we are welcoming Expression of Interest from experienced and competent Riggers for core crew positions based offshore in the North Sea and further afield.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Have the required competencies to plan, position, install and dismantle construction elements and assemblies, and to prepare and traverse a load to its point of placement and position it, while adhering to the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) with consideration to environmental and sustainability.
  • Understand relevant legislative, regulatory, and local requirements following procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities to reporting lines.
  • Understand work area preparation and reinstatement requirements, materials and equipment, and the possible consequences of incorrect actions in these areas.
  • Be able to read and interpret relevant, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions, lift plans and relevant schedules.
  • Understand which tools and equipment to use and when and follow training methods and techniques and quality control and safe operating procedures for their use.
  • Understand their responsibilities for ensuring the care and security of tools and equipment used.
  • Understand the types of defects and faults that can occur, how to identify them, and what action to take.
  • Be able to handle a range of digital information technology and equipment as appropriate to support work related tasks and to communicate information.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
